The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic surveyor to join our marine operations team in Finland. The surveyor will be based either in Helsinki or Turku but travel within the country (and sometimes abroad) will be required.

Our customers look to us for engineering expertise with a solution-based approach to reducing risk, ensuring they can operate efficiently and safely in the harshest of environments. You will be part of a team of passionate specialist, independently visiting client sites.
You will:

Be performing classification and statutory surveys on board existing and new building ships in accordance with Lloyd’s Register Rules & Regulations, statutory instruments and respective codes, as well as surveys of marine materials, equipment and components at manufacturers’ works.
Carry out reporting in an accurate and timely manner and ensure that the reporting is both technically and legally correct.
Offer extensive advice, and applicable consultancy in areas of modern marine industry.
You will need:

A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register within the field of marine engineering or naval architecture.
Some working experience from shipbuilding industry, classification, or shipping companies.
An awareness of the marine business environment, both in the developing of existing business and reaching for new opportunities.
A good knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written). Knowledge of Finnish and Swedish will be a benefit.
To be IT literate with good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Package.
A driver’s licence.
