Ocean Infinity is seeking an Fleet Operations Director to develop and steer the offshore fleet from new building(s) into operation.
Work location: Remote but with an expectation to spend much time with the team in Southampton

Job description

The successful candidate will become a core team member at Ocean Infinity/Ocean Intelligence and will take the overall responsibility for the technical and operational (ship management) aspects of the owned fleet in the start-up phase as the vessels are delivered and commence operations. As the Company and its fleet grows, there is great opportunity for the right candidate to create and lead a separate marine division within Ocean Infinity.
Main duties
Take the leading role in liaising with the new building team and ensure a seamless handover from the newbuilding team to the operations team at delivery from the yard and onto operational phase for each vessel
Take the leading role and be responsible for the preparation within Ocean Intelligence for the delivery of the Armada fleet, including HSE, permits, licenses, certification, safety cases etc.
Take the leading role and be responsible for the up manning of vessels and control centres
Ensure that a continuous flow of information on progress, specifications and capabilities for each vessel is shared with the Sales and Marketing team and facilitate and host client site visits and meetings as required
Act as a link between the new building team and the existing Ocean Intelligence team in terms of specifications and requirements in order to ensure the end product
Tracking and perform quality controls of the delivery of projects to ensure continuous improvement.
Ensure internal communication in terms of work progress, activities and budget status is timely and according to standard.
Building and developing relationships and collaborations with key partners including clients, shipyards, suppliers and vendors.
Building and developing relationships with regulatory bodies i.e. class and flag / coastal state(s).
Building, managing and developing a successful operations team to interface with internal and external partners.
Interface with and support wider Ocean Infinity to define, implement and develop strategies around vessels and service line deliveries.
Promote safety and the implementation of a robust, state of the art HSE system including promoting a corporate culture focused on HSE.
Ensure communications and information about the new building programs is delivered timely and with the correct content.
Ensure correct and optimum utilization of resources and capabilities both internally and externally.
Promoting and exploring green solutions in all steps of the supply chain and in the delivery of the vessels including their specifications and capabilities.

Key Requirements
Degree M.Sc in Naval Architecture or equivalent experience or education
A strong solid technical and commercial background with demonstrable business delivery track record within the marine industry from shipyard (new building, conversion and/or repair) and shipping/offshore companies.
A strong and experienced leader who can build and lead a successful team and positively motivate them to achieve results.
Strong focus on strategy and the ultimate vision of Ocean Infinity.
Strong network within relevant engineering industries and regulatory bodies (shipyards, suppliers, vendors, class and flag/coastal state(s).
Understanding clients’ needs and challenges with the ability to drive and implement solutions which are profitable to Ocean Infinity.
Great interpersonal skills, having the ability to truly motivate and engage people.
