Technical Services provides technical support on the entire Wärtsilä product range, including our electrical and automation products. We are now looking for engineers interested in working with advanced control systems used in marine and offshore applications.

Wärtsilä Norway AS is looking for a Vessel Automation Expert to strengthen our organisation within electrical and automation systems used for diesel-electric and hybrid marine systems.
Responsibilities and requirements
Provide technical support to internal and external customers on Integrated Automation, Energy Management and Power Management Systems
Contribute to product development and product improvement processes for electrical and automation products
Contribute to project engineering and project execution
Execute Root-Cause-Analysis when necessary
Stay updated on relevant technical development in the area
Assist in pre-study and offering phase in cooperation with Sales Support
Some travelling on installations
Participation in project execution and studies for electrical systems.
Development of system design and preparation of documentation.
Evaluation of bids, review of vendor documentation and supplier follow-up.
System analyses and simulations.
Technical clarifications concerning customer, suppliers.
Technical support for commissioning and start-up activities.
Knowledge about class rules for electrical and automation system in general and battery hybrid solution in particular.
Evaluate and discuss FMEA tests.
Desired Skills:
You are both practical and analytical, and likes to have a combined theoretical and commercial approach to problem solving.
You have good command in English, good communication skills and have a customer mind set.
Education:
B.Sc./M.Sc within the field of Electrical and Automation Systems.
Documented relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education.
Experience:
Experience with engineering tools
Experience with software engineering
Experience with or understanding of Diesel Electric and Hybrid Power Distribution systems
Experience real time systems, network architecture and SCADA/PLC solutions
Experience with designing graphical user interface
