Our Client is developing Mozambique’s first LNG Park which will meet the increasing world demand for a sustainable, reliable and cleaner source of energy. The development includes a subsea (1,400m) to shore dry gas field development located in the northern part of Mozambique.
They are currently in need of a Subsea Construction Coordinator and below are more details.

Job Summary
Primary role and responsibility for the Subsea Afungi Camp Coordinator shall be to promote Company policy on health, safety and the environment (HSE), while monitoring and promoting the subsea team offshore operations and ensure alignment and continuity at Afungi Camp with other project teams. Recognizing that the offshore installation team is wholly responsible for the offshore management of the work. The Subsea Afungi Coordinator is to represent the offshore team in Afungi Camp and liaise with various other teams to ensure seamless work. This is mainly a non-technical role.
Activities
Attend all pertinent project meetings in Afungi Camp
Participate in daily conference calls as required
Promote and educate other project teams (onshore/environmental/etc.) on the Offshore Scope of Work
Provide detailed information to Afungi project teams regarding the Offshore Works to promote collaboration and alliance
Attend and contribute to project meetings
Keep a project log of meetings, discussions, requests for the duration of the work
Submit reports and calls to Installation Lead as required
Continually monitor activities on Afungi site that may impact offshore activities and report to Installation Lead
Highlight any risks to Installation Lead / Team
Assists EPCI contractor with any in-country issues
Assists with housing, on-site transportation, crew changes and general requests
Works with and LNG contractors on Temporary Base Loading (TBL) and Marine Offloading Facility (MOF) access associated with requirements
Monitor and coordinate any ad-hoc drilling supply vessel activities at the MOF
Liaison with COMPANY Social & Environmental Leads for any issues with EPC Contractor or subcontractors
Coordinates Site Supervisors, project team, with personnel movements and housing
Coordinates subcontractor housing and movements with particular focus during crew change for Offshore operations
Coordinates activities with all in-country project Managers & Coordinators
Oversees onshore construction works by EPCI contractor
Runs Site Supervisor office at work site
Coordinate and manage SIMOPs during offshore project execution
Liaison with Port Authority for all offshore project vessel traffic.
Review and comment Contractor documents, especially on diving operations.
Monitor work and confirm its being completed to appropriate standards
Monitor early dredging and temporary port construction
Monitor beach pull-in preparations and creation of pre-commissioning equipment laydown area to include: o Pull-in winch set-up o Installation of winch hold back anchor o Installation of pipeline anchoring systems
Pre-commissioning activities, including set-up of equipment, temporary flange welding, establishment of pig launchers and receivers and installation of an intake/dump line offshore
Installation of beach valve skids
Tie-in of offshore and onshore pipelines and umbilicals
Monitor pipeline shore approach and crossing dredging activities
Monitor pipeline and umbilical pull-in operations
Receive, on behalf of project some cargo and equipment deliveries as necessary for pull-in winch, wire reels, earth moving plant, etc…)
HSE roles & responsibilities
Promote safety culture with the team and with the CTR at site / at offices
Adhere to Project HSE site instructions and policies
Regularly attend Project HSSE meetings, trainings, audits and inspections
Promote a proactive approach to safety awareness and act to prevent incidents if necessary
Be familiar with the incident command system for emergency response
Report incidents / near misses
Provide support as required for any medevac of rig personnel to Afungi
Ensure Company HSE policies are followed throughout the work
Attend and contribute to any HAZIDs
Ensure that scope of work related to the protection of the environment is duly executed by the CTR.
The job holder is responsible for
Ensuring Company HSE policies are followed throughout the work
Representing all aspects of the offshore scope of work within the Afungi Camp.
Ensuring these activities are accounted for in the Afungi planning and onshore activities during construction and pre-commissioning phases.
Coordinating subcontractor housing and movements
Monitoring work and confirm its being completed to appropriate standards
Reviewing and commenting contractor documents as required
However, should a decision be made in case of conflict with other onshore or marine activities it shall be made by the Installation Manager.
Disposition and Desirable Criteria
Ability to get along well with others in an international and multi-cultural environment
Ability to work on a 12hours a day, 7days a week basis for 28/28 in a camp.
Ability to multi-task and work as part of small and flexible team.
Desire to take responsibility for your area of work and to hold yourself accountable to deliver in line with the above responsibilities accordingly.
Fluid communicator capable to represent the offshore and drilling activities
Previous experience working in remote areas managing a multifaceted construction and installation scope is required
OBSERVATIONS
Base location: Afungi Site, Mozambique.
Duration of assignment: 3 to 4 years
Travel: Not on a regular basis
Relocation available: Rotational on Site

CONTEXT & ENVIRONMENT
Mozambique LNG is a subsea (1,400m) to shore dry gas field development located in the norther part of Mozambique close to the Tanzania border.
The subsea field will be developed via 18 subsea wells (7” Vertical Subsea Trees), seven four slot production manifolds with associated foundations, one MEG manifold, three 22” trunk lines (approximately 120km total length), one 6” and one 8” MEG lines (approximately 40km length each), eighteen 10” in-field flowlines (825 Alloy clad) with associated, two 4” in-field MEG lines, associated ILTs and FLETs for all pipelines and flowlines 25 control modules for trees and manifolds, fours subsea routers, four onshore umbilicals, two main tie-back umbilicals (approximately 80km total length), five infield umbilicals, twelve UTA assemblies, one hundred and eighty nine electro hydraulic flying leads, forty eight 10” flexible jumpers, rigid jumpers and spools (16” and 22”)
The project FID was taken in July 2019 with first fuel gas planned in 2023.
