You have a great opportunity now - we are seeking a Shipbuilding Site Manager to coordinate activities related to construction of performed by dedicated Shipyard/Suppliers.
Key activities:
Coordinate activities of some of the SPECIAL VESSEL TYPES project to ensure that goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within established time frame and budget
Act at the fabrication shipyard as the Shipowner’ representative and be involved as such in contractual relation with the Shipyard/Suppliers.
Develops some of the SPECIAL VESSEL TYPES Project plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities and established project goals
Perform essential duties and responsibilities personally or through coordination with fabrication department and site inspection personnel.
Responsible and accountable for the performance of Shipbuilding supervisors, technicians, and line staff for safety, quality, cost, and scheduling
Directs activities in areas of safety and personnel, production, scheduling, material handling and quality and ensures compliance with all Safety, Quality, Company and Regulatory directives in conjunction with the team and QHSE. Ensures that Shipyard/Suppliers follow the said rules.
Maintain production schedules, project budgets and expenditures
Review and interpret designs, drawings & specifications, recommend changes to plans and specifications to meet actual vessel conditions.
Develop and produce monthly progress reports
Set and manage project expectations with Fabrication Site inspection
Review and follow production schedules provided by the Shipyard/suppliers
Identify and solve project concerns and propose mitigation plan when necessary
Experience:
The position requires a combination of strong technical, analytical, innovative and commercial/contractual skills
Significant relevant multi-discipline engineering experience in shipbuilding and offshore construction are required to provide the necessary overview of the business, with considerable experience in planning or project engineering
A good experience in planning, budgeting and managing interfaces
Conversant with international, group engineering standards, as well as HSE standards
Good man-management, interpersonal, organization skills and ability to work autonomously are essential
Good communication skills and an aptitude for taking initiatives are essential, as is the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to manage the relationship with key stakeholders
Thorough understanding of the risks and the technical/commercial issues associated with the development of shipbuilding project
Proven track record of result deliveries in challenging project environments
Strong capabilities in problem solving in complex project and business environments
We are looking for someone, who has:
Minimum 10 years’ experience as a shipyard site manager or other management level responsibilities in a shipyard environment, ideally within shipbuilding of offshore fabrication
MUST have Engineering Diploma from an accredited university/college – Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering or similar qualification with a strong technical background. Maritime Academy preferred
In depth knowledge of all business functions associated with shipyard management
Ability to apply Continuous Improvement strategies across all functions, which includes the ability to introduce needed change, create excitement for change and lead change initiatives
Ability to refine communication skills based on audience, use active listening skills and non-verbal rapport building skills and effectively communicate message to both small and large groups
Ability to make quick decisions. Must be able to gain input from many different people and use a participative decision-making approach when appropriate
Ability to establish clear and consistent expectations and follow up on critical tasks and hold people accountable in a tough, but fair manner
Ability to analyze situations, react quickly, work collaboratively, apply good judgment and maintain composure in high pressure situations.
Considerable knowledge in all areas of shipbuilding and or offshore constructions material handling, labor, safety and product related state and federal regulations and practices

Conditions of employment
2 years project contract with good benefits based on the Danish Salaried Employees Act, pension, health insurance.
Place of work: first half 2021 in our CPH office and after in shipyards/supplier’s premises either in Europe or Asia (exact place to be defined later following award of shipbuilding contracts).
