Job Summary:

This role will focus on developing a core feature set that our development teams can use to build the highest quality 3D virtual lab simulations at massive scale. It will work closely with our scientific writers, game designers, artists, developers and content product owners to plan feature sets that allow them to more effectively build scalable content and deliver a high quality experience to our users. Our content scaling ambitions are high and we need you to help set that vision in the team. A background in game development production at scale is a huge advantage. Your team will consist of a team of 7 UX engineers, Unity developers, QA, and you’ll partner with 2 other product teams who also support other elements of our production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a Senior Product Owner for Agile Development teams (on- and offshore), using Scrum or Kanban, such as writing user stories
  • Strong prioritization skills
  • Set the vision across Platform product teams - Core Unity is at the forefront of the development
  • Deliver and maintain a set of requirements to ensure the products are delivered in line requirements whilst meeting the needs of all stakeholders
  • Representing the voice of our growing content production team
  • Leading our understanding of value for your users
  • Maintain and plan a clear delivery roadmap for the products, deliver projects, manage dependencies, risks, issues
  • Defining metrics to measure the impact of your products and effectiveness of your team
  • Collaborating with multiple other technical product owners with similar goals
  • Consistent use of tracking and roadmap tools (Atlassian suite)
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
  • 5+ years in Agile product owner roles, ideally with game / platform development background
  • Product and Backlog management experience in an Agile organisation (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience within the EdTech or Game industry space is a must
  • A well-worn toolkit of requirements gathering, documenting. user testing and product validation techniques
    • UML, Use Case modeling, A/B testing etc.
  • Communication and Stakeholder management - excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience establishing value-based metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to triage feedback coming from teams with a variety of backgrounds (artists, developers, writers, scientists, translators, game designers)
  • Strong technical skills, good understanding of software development practices and technologies
  • Understanding of the principles of service driven architectures & content delivery networks, API development
  • Deep underlying knowledge of digital products across web and mobile
