Our business is changing, which is why we are now looking for nothing less than the most talented Mechanical Designer to act as a coordinator and design leader for groups of internal or external mechanical designers, locally and globally. In this role you will be responsible for specific mechanical design modules, maintain, develop the module and create, update design descriptions. You will also deliver complete and correct documentation according to BTS ”Basic Technical Specification” within planned SAP/Excel schedule and make order specification documents.
This position is based in Kista. MacGregor office is located in nice premises in Kista with walking distance to commuting. Selfunloading Systems is located in Stockholm and Gothenburg. You will work in Stockholm in close collaboration with colleagues in Gothenburg and internationally.
The role as a mechanical designer involves a varied and stimulating work. The main tasks are independent design and production of production data for order-based design, but also new development of products and sub-designs. Calculation and verification of structures as well as responsibility for substructures may occur. You will work with an international team as well as international customers.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Design all mechanical designs (steel structure, mechanical modules and assemblies)
for all products.
Make design layouts
Make work plans together with module responsible
Make material specifications
Make models-drawings
Make order specification documents
Make selfunloader arrangements
Participate in R&D projects
Participate in development, standardisation, modernisation, rationalisation and validation of products and modules in close cooperation with customers, suppliers, partners and other functions)
Develop, modernise, standardise, rationalise the module you are responsible for
Checking of drawings related to the specific module that you are responsible for
Make test protocols and instructions
Participate in projects for improving the design process
Make documents available in Voult/PSP
Perform dim.check of complete design
Lead and supervise designers and subcontracted designers internally and externally.
Make changes/ revisions
Handle questions from customers
Handle questions from production, sub-suppliers and partners
Participate in modernisation projects
Design tools for production
Train and educate partners, service, customers
Trouble-shooting in the field
Design all mechanical designs (steel structure, mechanical modules, assemblies) for all products.
What you’ll need to succeed:Education
B.Sc/M.Sc in mechanical engineering or comparable education or long experience in mechanical design.
Experience
Preferably minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design.
Competencies
Flexible and problem solving with analytical qualities.
Be able to develop and present new and innovative solutions.
Adapt easily to new techniques and keen to increase knowledge
Leadership skills
Good communication skills
Fluent in English, spoken and written.
