Current challenges you can expect from us
Business Area Wind is responsible for Vattenfall’s Onshore and Offshore Wind as well as other renewable activities such as solar PV and batteries. Today we develop, construct and operate wind generation in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. In addition, we have a clear strategy to develop our solar PV and battery operations further.
The Business Unit (BU) Offshore in Business area (BA) Wind is responsible for developing, constructing and operating Offshore wind farms. BU Offshore currently consist of 12 operating windfarms with a total capacity of 2.1GW spread across Europe. We are currently working on the construction of two other wind farm for 2.1GW and are planning to start construction of another farm for 0.4GW in the next year. Furthermore we are developing plans for next Offshore wind farms in the countries we are operating in and are investigating entering new countries.
Purpose of your potential role
As Junior Controller you assist the Finance Business Partner with various tasks in the departments Engineering, which consist off more than 300 skilled Engineers, and Project Delivery which responsibility it is to build our Offshore wind sites.
Tasks and assignment will evolve over time when the right skills and knowledge are obtained. We will educate the right person with the needed skills to be a Finance Business Partner over time. As part of the Offshore controlling team you will have your direct team colleagues in Amsterdam (NL), Hamburg (GE), Kolding (DK) and London (UK).
The following main tasks are in the responsibility of the Junior Controller in the Business Unit (BU) Offshore of BA Wind:
Support the Finance Business Partner for Engineering and Project Management and their teams
Prepare and analyse monthly results and communicate this to the management members
Support the financial controlling department with relevant business insight / rationale in local country statutory audits
Ad hoc participation in projects and improvement initiatives
Over time, provide finance/commercial support (and challenge) to the management members with timely analysis of their performance, identifying trends/improvements and recommending actions to management
Your Essential Qualifications
For this position we are seeking an individual with the ability to handle a challenge and is flexible in distributing the workload. Also, you bring the following qualifications:
Bachelor or Master degree (or similar experience-based level) in a relevant field (i.e. controlling, economics, accounting, finance or engineering)
Curious to developed MS Excel, Microsoft Power BI and PowerPoint skills
You bring the following key competencies:
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing
Strong team player, willingness to help others out and deliver against deadlines;
Ability to work independently with a hands-on and pragmatic mind set
Open, active and positive person, with an eagerness to learn new skills
