The Global Category Buyer in the OCTG & Subsurface Equipment team will be located in BU Norway, support Wintershall DEA business units globally and reports to the Global Category Manager located in Head Quarter. The category has a spend of about 80-90. mio. € per year and covers areas such as OCTG, Wellheads, Completion Equipment, Liner Hanger Equipment,Artificial Lift , as well as other subsurface equipment and related services.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Category Management
Plan to-Strategy:
Support the Global Category Manager as well as taking own responsibility in the development of category strategies, screening of supplier markets, demand, forecasts, spend, assess suppliers, identify improvement (cost/value/safety) levers and select priority opportunities for added value;
Source-to-Contract:
Establishment of the project/tender relevant procurement strategies, as well as introduction of activities defined in the Category Strategies, including setting final specifications and commercial conditions (as per Category standards), setting critical performance factors and agreeing on contract relevant key performance indicators, tender execution(e.g. preparation of ITT documents, , evaluation of submissions, conducting negotiations up to contract award;
Contract and supplier performance management:
Execute contracts and ensure contract performance and adherence to contractual conditions, contract variations/amendments, handling of disputes and claims;
Supplier Relationship Management:
Manage supplier relationships; monitor supplier performance, support the drive for continuous improvement and/or supplier development, collect supplier feedback, reduce the cost of poor quality, optimize supply chain processes and drive innovation and value creation activities with selected suppliers;
Purchase-to-Pay:
Be the first point of contact for the category in BU Norway, be responsible for the coordination of the category demands, execution of the purchase orders, communication with suppliers, participating in the operational project meetings and following up on the timely delivery of ordered equipment supported by the procurement specialists in the BU.
Project Procurement Coordinator:
For larger capital projects and BU operations, be part of the project organization, establish project procurement strategy, coordinate between project and procurement organization, support smooth project organization, procurement reporting, manage non-conformities;
Other:
Ensure compliance with Wintershall Dea Management System
Foster a culture of improvement and HSEQ-compliance
Demonstrate knowledge through working in multidisciplinary teams, mentor and contribute to skill networks
Act as member of global Wintershall DEA Supply Chain community

Education:
Masters or bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study (economics, supply chain, engineering)
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within procurement, supply chain and category management
Knowledge of E&P business – especially in relation to the category is an advantage
