We offer an exciting part time position for a Finance/Accounting student who has a desire to combine studies with hands on learning opportunities. You will be part of a collaborative, experienced and engaged Finance team with colleagues across Europe.
As our new Student Finance Assistant in Copenhagen, you are joining the Svitzer Europe Finance team. You will be working alongside colleagues from cross functional areas such as Operations, Procurement, Commercial, Technical, Human Resources, Marine Standards and our crew members. You will also have frequent contact with Finance Shared Service Centre in India, as well as Head Office functions, primarily within Finance.

You will support the Finance team in managing the accounting for several legal entities and provide support in different day to day accounting tasks. You will be participating in a variety of the following areas:Supporting the Finance team in Scandinavia with day to day tasks such as accounts receivables, account payables, bank, general ledger and reporting.
o Examples of common tasks are reconciliations, postings, calculations, coding of invoices and follow up on overdue vendor invoices.

o Less common tasks could be reports, reporting to authorities, internal controls, audits, investigations and analysis as well as project work.
Performing/participating in monthly, quarterly and annual closing proceduresEnsuring high data qualityEnsuring that all the General Ledger accounting and Financial / Management Reporting is done in accordance with IFRS and APMM GAAPSupporting Europe Finance team with projects, processes and other finance tasks

We are looking for
You are currently studying for a relevant university degree in Accounting, Auditing or Finance and want to combine that with a part time job.
You know your basic debit and credit.
You are an advanced user of Excel and able to work in complex spreadsheets and well as a basic Microsoft user of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Teams, among other applications. You are a quick learner and will in this role get to learn Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Navision.
Effective communication skills and comfortable working in English is requirement. Swedish or Danish language is considered an advantage, but not required.
Flexibility is appreciated and we are looking for a hands-on person, not afraid of rolling up your sleeves and supporting the team in getting critical tasks done on time.
