We are looking for a new Engineering Manager for our Support Structure Department in Offshore Engineering. The Support Structure area includes the departments for Loads, Primary Structures Design, Secondary Structures Design and System Integration. The department is engaged in project specific designs for Offshore wind farms all over the world and enable optimizations, new solutions and efficient project execution within this area. We aim for "fire prevention" rather than "fire fighting" and build our business on professional project management skills combined with high technical competencies and strong leadership. How to contribute to our vision As our new Support Structure Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing the tower and foundation activities in the turbine package. In addition, you will utilize your own engineering skills and take part in design activities within the project. You will be involved in back office as well as front line activities, finding solutions together with the technical experts of our customers. More specifically, your assignments will include: Delivering high quality engineering projects on agreed time and budgetEnsuring that the project execution is compliant with Siemens Gamesa quality procedures at all timesCoordinating and managing deliverables from Lead Engineers and Specialists involved in the various projectsInterdisciplinary communication between the other Engineering Managers in the projects, i.e. Rotor/Nacelle, Software & SCADA and Electrical Systems & FabricationEnsuring a proper hand-over of design to manufacturing and installationConducting time planning and coordination of engineering activities in the projectsResourcing allocation within the support structure group in close cooperation with the line managementManaging technical interfaces within the support structure project and towards engineering sub-contractorsProactively approaching knowledge sharing by reporting lessons learned back to the line organization in order to ensure continuous improvement of products and processesThird party certification of relevant deliverables What you need to make a difference Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. The ideal candidate for this role: holds a B.Sc. or M.Sc degree in Structural, Mechanical or Offshore Engineering, preferably combined with +5 years of relevant experience from design or engineering management within the wind power industry has experience from executing commercial scale offshore wind projects as e.g. Engineering Manager or Lead Engineer within loads or structural design has experience with managing many different stakeholders and interfaces (internally as well as externally) and succeeding in delivering technically scoped projects To be successful in this role, you as a person: are positive, proactive, motivating and self-determinedtake responsibility for your workyou possess strong coordination and collaboration skills are able to work in an international environment and possess excellent English skills, both orally and in writing love the fun and the challenge in the race of building some of the largest offshore wind farms in the world ​ In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
