Data Scientist / Programming Role Rystad Energy is a leading supplier of industry data and insights into the energy sector. We are looking for talented individuals to continue our growth story as a team and company. The Technology Team is focused on supporting our data products and analysts by solving problems through data and industry knowledge. Develop models and required infrastructure with high quality and robustness to solve questions posed by the industry and continuous improvements to our products. We are looking for a candidate for a programming position with a "can-do" attitude, drive to be master within Data Mining, Optimization and statistic modelling and desire to learn extensive knowledge regarding the energy sector. We offer challenging programming tasks, substantial learning opportunities within a positive, dynamic and international environment. Due to Covid-19, it is unlikely that we will pursue candidates from outside Europe. Main tasks might include: Data Mining, Optimization, Statistical and other problem solving by use of traditional/standard algorithm or ML Data Engineering, Integration of the data structures into the architecture used across the company Implement models into the production environment and maintain existing models. Ensure data integrity and analyse the data with statistical methods. Communicate results internally and support product development by creative thinking and exploring other data sources Research and learn about project topics. The scope is vast, but the primary research focus is energy. I..e: For developing models for offshore wind energy, you will need to learn about foundations types, construction or cable types. Requirements: University degree (Master/Bachelor) in a data-driven field such as computer science, mathematics, economics; (computer science is a plus) Knowledge with databases SQL & non-SQL C#, C++, Python Knowledge on extensive data to gather, classify, analyse and synthesise information coming from multiple sources Solid analytical and problem-solving skill Love to code Ability to communicate well both verbally and in a written form Fluent in English; other languages are a plus. Experience on a cloud platform is a plus. We will consider both juniors and seniors.
