Description
ABB Corporate Research Center in Sweden is located in Västerås, about 100 kilometers west of Stockholm. Together with our colleagues in other R&D centers we develop technologies for future products and services for ABB's core businesses.
The task is to develop and validate algorithms for GPS free maritime navigation systems. In a previous collaboration between Linköping University and ABB, we developed an algorithm to estimate the position of the own vessel by comparing the radar response of the navigation radar with digital elevation models.
We now want to take this promising approach to new levels, by extending the method in different ways, and are now seeking highly motivated students interested in making maritime navigation safer.
