What will you do?
As Technical Superintendent you will be responsible for supporting and strengthening the technical support to the vessels in your group. In this role you will work closely with vessels and take charge when necessary. Our vessels operate pretty much all day every day, so it requires problem solving at a high pace. You will have the responsibility to plan and coordinate the ships dockyard periods. You will also be responsible for following-up the vessels, ensuring that they comply with both national and international standards as well as the Company’s. As Technical Superintendent you report to the Fleet Manager. In this role you always contribute and helps develop Stena Line’s profile as a safety conscious company – safety comes first!
Some of your key responsibilities:
Responsible for the vessels’ budget
Responsible for planning and coordination of ships yard periods and work
Responsible for vessels Investments, Capex
Regular inspections of the vessels to ensure safe operation and follow-up on planned maintenance and performance
Project management in technical projects
Support the Marine Safety Superintendent to analyse accidents and incidents reports
Technical contact with authorities, classification and industry companies
Solve daily technical challenges
Responsible for the vessels' service/purchase orders and support to the purchasing department
Part of the company's "Emergency Response Team"
Who are you?

The must-haves:
University degree in Marine engineering or as a Nautical Officer
Experience as Chief Engineer or First Engineer, previous experience working on a RoPax vessel is a plus!
Knowledge and interest in ship related technical matters
Good knowledge in rules and legislation governing shipping and the working environment on board, both nationally and internationally
Good knowledge and experience in MS Office, it’s a plus if you worked in AMOS, Auto Cad and Refman (or similar systems)!
Previous experience as a leader is meritorious
Fluent in Swedish and English, written and spoken
