A Senior Broker position has become available in the North American Special Crime team of SCR, part of WTW's newly formed Crisis Management practice. With associates in London, New York, Madrid and Stockholm, the Special Crime team manages Kidnap & Ransom, Maritime Piracy, Active Assailant and All Risks Evacuation insurances for a diverse, international portfolio of clients.

The Role

The broker performs a variety of high level and strategically focused tasks within WTW Crisis Management including but not limited to:

  • Managing Book of Business
  • Utilizing placement expertise across Special Crime and Active Assailant lines to win and retain clients, enhance revenue via up-and cross-sell opportunities and close pending new business opportunities.
  • Establishing, maintaining and actively building effective relationships with carriers, clients, key producers and WTW network personnel
  • Stimulating revenue growth and meeting business objectives by placing new business across Special Crime and Active Assailant lines, improving retention rates, increasing commission rates
  • Marketing new business opportunities, securing coverage to meet client needs
  • Supervising the review of renewal business for adequacy of coverage and competitive rates

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s level degree; Insurance degree a plus
  • Insurance Brokers License required (Property and Casualty required, Life, Accident & Health desirable)
  • Professional designations preferred
  • Product and placement knowledge of Special Crime and Property and Casualty lines desireable
  • Deep technical knowledge of Insurance Contracts
  • Full knowledge of E&O Avoidance & Resolution
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Ability to lead team and work with COE Leader on initiatives
  • Strong negotiation & broker skills
  • Strong sales and marketing skills to drive new business opportunities across Special Crime and Active Assailant lines
  • Strong client service orientation with ability to proactively understand client’s needs and present/implement solutions.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills
  • Team player who takes initiative, is resourceful and is self-motivated to continuous learning and development
  • Computer skills which include proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
