The Marine Products division of Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Wilhelmsen Group, supplies thousands of different vessel maintenance products, to thousands of different customers, in all corners of the world. This entails a complex pricing landscape, where the pricing team has to develop, maintain, and update millions of pricing points in order to offer prices in line with market realities. Pricing is therefore of high strategic importance in Wilhelmsen, and has high priority from top management. Our pricing analysis team is at the core of managing this complexity, and by solving ever-challenging tasks they have the potential to create tremendous value. To manage this highly skilled team and further strengthen our professional approach to pricing, we are now searching for a Pricing Strategist.
This global role will report to the Pricing Director Marine Products and will collaborate closely with the pricing team, the global sales organization as well as the product management function. The Pricing Strategist is responsible for the management of 2 talented pricing analysts and is the “right hand” of the pricing director when it comes to pricing topics and the development of new pricing schemes. The position is also actively participating in the continuous improvement of the pricing strategy of the Marine Products division and developing pricing concepts for business models new to WSS. In addition to global analyses, our pricing strategist will also manage the pricing of a strategic high revenue product category.
The role requires combining quantitative and technical abilities with a strategic mindset, seniority to manage a team of pricing analysts, and simultaneously having the detailed knowledge and capabilities to design and execute required analyses and tasks. Responsibilities & tasks:
Supervise the pricing analysis team. Execute an oversee in-depth pricing analysis for strategic product categories, including performance monitoring, price elasticity modeling and leakage control and make proposals to the business. Develop pricing structures/concepts for new products and services. Analyse pricing performance and share such analysis with the company’s management and other key stakeholders. Develop and maintain pricing metrics and tools, including investigating current system usage/functionality. Monitor the implementation of new pricing policies/procedures. Provide guidance, templates, tools, and analysis to the relevant functions to: Define and manage correct price positioning for price offers; Effectively set the individual product/service price; Determine market positioning of the solutions Report product sales performance to main stakeholders.
Desired qualifications:
Relevant degree in Economics/Finance/Marketing. 3 - 8 years of experience, including experience from either pricing, consultancy or possibly product management. Strong quantitative and analytical skills. A strong desire to succeed in developing and growing the business. Conceptual and strategic mindset Comfortable working in an international environment. Good communication and persuasive skills with a very good command of the English language (oral and written). High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Experience with Power BI, SQL, Qlik sense, (Python - advantageous) Leadership potential

The role is situated at Wilhelmsen HQ in Lysaker, Oslo. Some travel may be expected but not a requirement.
