Description
The pipe stress engineer role is to ensure that the pipe stress activities are performed according to Rosenberg’s execution model and quality system as well as Contract Requirements. Secure optimal stress deliveries of project tasks.
Work tasks
- Static Stress Analysis of Offshore/Onshore/FPSO Piping Systems using CAESAR II.
- Perform flexibility analysis for various topside piping systems in Pre-Engineering and Detail Engineering.
- Trunnion calculations, Nozzle load evaluation, Flange leakage Calculations, Spring Selection, Snubber Selection, Expansion Joint Selection etc.
- Preparation of Stress report, stress isometric, piping load to Structural and Pipe support.
- Review of design documents for assurance that design complies with industry codes, piping specifications and client standards.
- Create critical line list.
- Checking calculations made by other engineers to ensure accuracy, conformance to codes, specifications, design criteria, and conformance to good engineering practice.
- Assisting the piping design group in resolving routine layout and detailing problems.
- Providing technical and advisory assistance to relevant departments and discipline.
Requirements
- College/University, Bachelor's degree
- College/University, Master's degree
- Knowledge of Piping/Stress department workflow.
- Knowledge of various codes & standards: NORSOK, ASME B31.3, API Codes, EN-13480, PED, BS.
- Know and understand the principles of piping arrangement and supporting.
- Experience in trouble-shooting pipe stress issues at industrial sites, identify and recommend solutions
- Proficient in the use of Caesar II, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiar with 3D and 2D tool
- Long relevant multidiscipline experience ( 5- 10 years) with stress & flexibility analysis
