Offshore Project Engineer

Be a part of our offshore team driving large and complex projects within the renewable sector

Are you a project engineer with experience from offshore construction and are keen to be part of the world’s renewable energy transformation? NKT is currently expanding our offshore engineering team and are offering a unique opportunity to join one of the leading suppliers of the largest and most complex submarine cable projects.

Challenge yourself in an dynamic and multi-cultural work environment

As part of our offshore engineering department you will be surrounded by collages within various offshore engineering disciplines. You will be required to tender, plan and execute the installation and protection of our submarine cables. The engineers are deployed in project teams that are responsible for the preparation of complex projects from start to finish.

NKT’s offshore engineering department is highly versatile and regardless of the competences you hold at the moment you will be given the opportunity to broaden your offshore engineering competence.

You will be working with and coordinate with internal stakeholders, clients and subcontractors. Regular travel to NKT’s offices in Sweden, Germany, Netherlands and project sites are included.
Your primary tasks will be:

• Follow up and drive project planning and deliverables

• Develop procedures and other technical documentation for projects and tender and/or follow up on documentation produced by internal and external resources

• Be part of vessel engineering operations for NKT Victoria and other CLVs which includes; near-shore and shallow water works with cable-float-in and landfall works, cable pull-in at offshore platforms, cable laying in ultra-deep water, trenching and trenching equipment, seabed intervention and cable protection and more

• Communicate with offshore vessel crew during planning and conceptual design

• Allocation of personnel and equipment for planned activities and operations including follow up during the installation phase

• Determine most suitable technical solutions and methods in the tender and project phases, both from a technical, commercial and QHSE perspective

• Static and dynamic cable laying analysis as well as structural analysis

• Support smaller development and investment projects to help expand NKT’s offshore installation capabilities and competitiveness

You will be a part of a highly skilled team, based in Sweden and Netherlands and therefore you have the possibility of work location in Karlskrona, Malmö or Rotterdam.

Structured and collaborative engineer with good communication skills

To succeed in this role you have a high technical interest and competence. Our team is built on collaboration and strong team spirit so a success factor in this role is definitely being a team player and open minded sharing solutions, competences and experiences.

You are open-minded and motivated to take on several of various tasks ongoing, even more operative ones. Meeting deadlines and quality criteria is a natural part of your workflow and planning.

In addition to that you have a strong understanding of the challenges and associated risks involved when working with offshore construction projects.
Additionally, your CV comprises:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering

• 2-5 years’ experience from offshore projects and project engineering

• Experience from power cable installation, trenching of flexible products, back deck engineering on construction vessels and shallow water operations/construction is beneficial

• Design and drafting skills and experience from e.g. AutoCAD or SOLIDWORKS

• Proficiency in English, Swedish and Dutch are meritorious
