Description
Research areas will be within mathematical modelling and numerical analysis of computational methods for fluid-structure interaction problems, which e.g. could support the development and analysis of renewable energy systems. The candidate must have a strong background in structural mechanics, fluid mechanics and numerical analysis. You are expected to have implemented numerical methods suitable for structural mechanics and fluid dynamics, as current in-house models should be further developed. Furthermore, the applicant is expected to have published work within the field of fluid-structure interaction problems, e.g. for floating offshore structures.
Teaching will primarily be related to structural mechanics and hydrodynamics, but in other study programmes at the University.

Qualification requirements
Appointment as an Assistant Professor presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment.
Appointment as an Assistant Professor cannot exceed a period of four years in total in a temporary position (appointment at Assistant Professor level cannot exceed a period of eight years in total in Denmark).
