Global Maritime, Norway is now looking for “Marine Advisor” candidates to expand our Marine Services (MS) Team.
We are mainly looking for candidates for our offices in Bergen and Stavanger, but Oslo can be evaluated for the right candidate.
The Marine Service Department
As a Marine Advisor in our MS department, you will be involved in all phases of our project portfolio within renewables, shipping, and the wider energy sector.
Our projects range from early phase philosophy or concepting and assessment desktop studies to single projects or larger multidiscipline projects. The members of our MS team have specialist competence within different marine disciplines, but most of our employees have background as electrical engineers, 1st / Chief Engineer or Master mariner
The Marine Services department in Norway consists of 15 employees divided between Bergen and Stavanger. The small group ensures an excellent work environment, effective communication and reporting lines together with large flexibility in tasks and projects.

If you have the competencies listed below and a genuine interest for marine challenges, you will fit well in with the rest of our team!
Marine background as a senior marine officer from Dynamic Positioning (DP) vessels or units
Good knowledge to offshore / ship rules, regulations, and standards
Experience with marine operations / marine assurance is an advantage but not an absolute requirement
Experience with analysis of systems, processes or components as . FMEA, HAZID, HAZOP or similar
Experience from shuttle tankers, semisubmersible units or other offshore vessels is an advantage.
5+ years of relevant work experience
Self-driven and the ability to take responsibility in projects to ensure high quality deliverables.
Good knowledge in Microsoft office tools
Flexible, adaptive and solution oriented in your work style
A team player with a positive mindset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Norwegian and English
Typical tasks
Assist in planning, executing and report marine operations for our clients
Travel and attend vessels for inspections, surveys or DP testing
Support our clients and their Marine and DP questions and challenges
Prepare study reports and technical reports to our projects and end clients
Cooperate with project and department members for a high quality of our services
Perform the everyday work with a strong HSEQ focus
Guide less experience colleagues with operational or technical challenges.
Project follow-up and communication with Norwegian and international clients.

A normal day in the Marine Service Department
The everyday work in our MS department is varied and is dependent on tasks or projects we are awarded by our clients. We are a specialist company with an attractive competence, and we are therefore often involved in studies and projects where the typical method or solution is not necessarily the obvious alternative, and this allows us to think out of the box. We also see that our employees gain great insight and skills within the marine industry since the work involves technical and analytical tasks, but also hands-on experiences. With our wide range of consultancy services, it is also an opportunity to take part in offshore operations either as a 3rd party verificatory or as a member of our project teams.
