Are you recently qualified with a degree in Maritime Law or have other relevant maritime background and are interested in working in the field of marine insurance? You might be our next trainee in Team Gothenburg.
Our operation is divided into four teams, and one of them is located in Gothenburg. Each team is responsible for members (clients) within a certain geographical area and delivers top quality services in relation to the insurance classes offered. The claims executives are responsible for investigating and handling claims and for providing advice to members regarding insurance cover and nautical as well as legal matters related to the insurance classes offered.
Work Description
As a Trainee, you will assist the claims executives generally, and you will be introduced to and practice in the following areas:P&I RulesFD&D RulesHull & Machinery Insurance conditions and clausesInvestigating claimsAssessing proper reservesAppointing surveyors and other representatives and reviewing reportsAssessing liabilityNegotiating with opponentsAdjusting claims

Place of work and period of traineeship
The place of work is our head office in Gothenburg. The traineeship starts at the latest in January 2021 and lasts for one year. A trainee salary will be paid. Please note that you will have to arrange your own accommodation.Qualifications
The trainee position is offered to those of you who are recently qualified with a degree in Law (including Maritime Law) or other relevant marine education. An understanding of marine insurance or nautical matters is a benefit. You are required to speak English fluently and express yourself accurately in writing.
