Join our Green Investment Group as a highly motivated Technical Manager to help the Group support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy. This is a Nordics-based role, with frequent travel to London expected, although there is a degree of flexibility offered on base location. You will work in the Asset Creation & Management team (as part of Macquarie Capital’s principal infrastructure and energy investment business, IEG) alongside the principle investment deal team with responsibility for managing technical and development workstreams on renewable energy projects. Ideally you will have experience working across a range of renewable technologies but in particular, offshore wind; knowledge and experience in onshore wind and other emerging technologies such as hydrogen would also be considered favourably.

As a pivotal member of the Green Investment Group’s deal team, you will provide technical input on offshore wind projects and investment proposals; including coordinating the technical aspects of the due diligence process, supervising project development activities and taking the lead in arranging construction, and operation contracts for late stage development and operational projects.

Your primary responsibilities will include assessing project opportunities from early to late stage (pre and post permit) including teasers, model assumptions and IMs as well as assessing project viability, manging project development activities and running tender processes. In addition to this, you will also be interfacing with the financial advisory teams to ensure appropriate project structuring for project financing. You will be expected to ensure material issues and risks (WHSE, technical, commercial and programme related) across the portfolio are managed to optimize investment performance.

This role will see you optimizing project design and model/financial outcomes through technology selection and other project parameters (and providing ongoing technical support to the management of the assets during construction (including managing third party providers for technical reports and due diligence).

To be successful in this role, you will bring a minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering, procurement and construction management offshore wind projects, coupled with an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline such as Engineering and/or Science.

Additionally, you will have:
Experience from early-stage development through to construction and into operations and sell-down.
Demonstrable understanding of investor technical due diligence requirements, a
A good understanding of best practices for project development, project delivery, and asset management.
Experience with commercial and technical risk management
Experience working in European markets, notably Scandinavia
Associated language skills i.e. Danish, Norwegian, Swedish
Be adept at problem solving and critical thinking
Note the project you will be involved with may be located further offshore or nearshore, hence a combination of both offshore and onshore wind experience will be considered positively and nearshore development experience a plus.
