We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the leadership team within the Survey department for DeepOcean!
DeepOcean operates a fleet of industry leading offshore vessels and ROVs providing construction, maintenance, survey and inspection services to the offshore energy industry. DeepOcean has established its place as a market leader through its investment in the most up to date technologies and recruitment of the best industry professionals.

In the position as Team Leader – Survey Offshore Operations, you will be responsible for developing and managing a team of competent and capable offshore survey pool. You will work with the project teams to ensure that all projects have end to end support from offshore personnel as required.

This is an onshore-based position, working from our office in Haugesund with potential for occasional vessel visits and offshore assignments as required.

Duties and responsibilities
Provide management and support to all offshore survey personnel, monitoring all sick leave, holiday and all other relevant HR requirements
Identify training required to develop offshore personnel to ensure all relevant industry knowledge is available in house
Work with Project Teams to ensure that all end to end project requirements for offshore staff are met
Develop staffing plan highlighting recruitment requirements as required
Identify and maintain relationships with relevant consultants engaging their services as needed
Contribute to projects are required
Work with commercial team to provide input into tenders as required
Produce and review relevant procedures and reports as required
Organise and run weekly Survey Operations meeting including all relevant parties and collating and sharing minutes in a timely mannerQualifications
Bachelor’s /master’s degree or other higher education; we are looking for an analytical mind
Experience of line management is preferred; we need someone with strong leadership skills
Strong communication and procedure/report writing skills; written work of a high standard and presentable quality is important
Knowledge of Survey is desirable but not essential; we can teach you what you need to know
Experience of working with recruitment agencies is preferred; knowing how and where to get the right resources is key
Fluent in English, both verbal and written; we have offshore staff in all corners of the worldPersonal qualities
Ability to work with - and structure - a large amount of information; preferably broad and demonstrable experience of resource planning in the offshore sector
Leadership skills; ideally experience of line management for remote workers, with a good working knowledge of both UK and Norwegian employment laws
