In our Offshore business unit we are looking for a people manager for our newly created Risk Assessment team. Siemens Gamesa is a world leader in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of wind turbines, and this role represents an opportunity to take your career to the next level within our dynamic organization.
How to contribute to our vision
Risk Assessment is a team of 8 people consisting of safety engineers/HSE specialists. 4 of them are based in Denmark, 4 of them in Bangalore, India. The team is responsible for risk-assessing pre-assembly, installation, and commissioning procedures in line with design and specific on-site practice. The team is also responsible for making sure that all risks are incorporated and appropriately reflected in work instructions. The team collaborates closely with the documentation department.
As the team lead you are responsible for allocating resources to the various development and execution projects. You are also responsible for enabling and empowering the team members to be successful ensuring timely delivery with excellent quality and consistent adherence to formal processes and procedures. Setting clear goals, and monitoring team performance and reporting on metrics are also important tasks.
Your main stakeholders outside the team are project and engineering managers, and you will be cooperating closely with similar teams in our Onshore and Service business units as well as our global QM&HSE team that sets the standards.
The team’s tasks and deliverables are:
creating and maintaining HSE related documentation for OF construction projects.
facilitating risk assessment on construction processes and on tasks described in work instructions.
reviewing high-risk maintenance manuals and safety-critical work instructions.
knowledge sharing and competence upgrade of the documentation team in relation to the preventive safety-in-design-work, compliance work, safety awareness-training and local legal requirements.
supporting Line Management in managing corrective and preventive Health and Safety incidents.
developing standardized safety approaches to baseline construction data as well as strategies to continuously improve our safety standards.
Part of your own time will also be allocated to working as a specialist.
What you need to make a difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change.
You hold a degree within a relevant area, you are an experienced people manager, or you have the potential to become one, and you know how to manage employees at a distance in a global context. You have several years’ experience with HSE, preferably within the wind industry.
In this role it is important that you continuously improve existing processes and that you understand the customers’ and end users’ needs and requirements.
You have a strong focus on quality and take pride in making sure that your team delivers as promised. You know how to set targets and set up, track and report on KPIs.
You are structured and must be able to work under pressure and manage many tasks and activities at the same time. This includes being a present team lead for your team members.
As a communicator you are extremely strong with great people skills and good persuasive ability. The role has a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally, so confident networking is key. Your English is of a very high standard - both spoken and written.
