Position Summary
Reporting to the Technical Product Lead, Orca, the Systems Engineer is responsible for system-level architecture, detailed technical specification, analysis and troubleshooting, and providing technical guidance for the sustaining engineering, manufacturing, and service teams. This role will be located in the Bergen office.
Orca is one of our main energy storage systems and the most widely deployed product at Corvus Energy.
Responsibilities:Hands-on troubleshooting of systems/modules/circuit boards (and performing tests as necessary to support diagnosis)Interface with the Manufacturing and Service team to investigate field failures via data collection and analysis leading to the root cause. (incl. creation of test jigs as needed to support these investigations.)Management and communication of technical risks & reportingMaintenance, creation, and ownership of technical documentationOwnership and maintenance of system and subsystem requirements and interfacesContribute to the development of the core BMS algorithms for SOC, SOH, etc., design content for firmware upgrades (the pseudo-code), and verify the algorithms through testing and analysisConduct technical reviews, including DFMEA, risk assessments, and review of validation resultsParticipate in 8D and CAR activities as may be assignedOther duties as required
Qualifications:Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with 6+ years of relevant experience.Demonstrated Electrical/electronics troubleshooting experience.Detail-oriented personality type.Strong documentation and reporting skills.Creative approach to problem-solving.Self-starter.Work experience with high voltage/high current DC products.Aptitudes with test equipment including oscilloscope, power supplies, data loggers, DC loads, hi-pot testers, etc.Able to read electrical and electronics schematics as well as mechanical drawings.Ability to handle multiple tasks with the ability to effectively prioritize.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
