Local Unit & Position Description:

Due to an increasing demand for our services, particularly within offshore wind and offshore fish farms, we want to supplement our team of structural engineers with a new colleague. We are seeking a candidate with a few years of experience, but you are also welcome to apply if you have recently graduated or will graduate soon.
Floating Offshore Structures is the main unit in DNV for structural design review with respect to global and local strength of mobile offshore units (MOUs), typically;
wind turbine installation units
floating offshore wind turbines
offshore fish farms
ship-shaped units (production, storage and offloading, well intervention and drilling)
semi-submersibles
jack-ups
The above activities are mainly related to newbuilding but also includes conversions and modifications of existing units.
DNV is a leading Classification Society for MOUs and our unit is currently involved in the design review of several ongoing and upcoming large projects worldwide. The work will mainly consist of the following tasks:
Review and approval of structural design drawings
Review of design reports, covering the whole process from design basis, hydrodynamic load calculations, global response to local strength assessments
Performing independent analyses, typically with the DNV software Nauticus Hull and Sesam package
Support DNV yard site team during fabrication of the units
Communication with our clients, which are normally vessel owners, construction yards and
designers/consultants.

Qualifications:
MSc. degree within naval architecture or structural engineering
Experience within Finite Element Modelling and analyses
Experience within offshore hull structures is an advantage
Experience within hydrodynamic analyses is an advantage
Experience within programming, using e.g. Java, VBA or Python, is an advantage
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
