What does the role offer?
In this varied role you will be responsible for design appraisal and also consultancy work. This covers approval of plans for ships and systems/components to the Rules & Regulations of Lloyd’s Register, IEC standards etc. and statutory codes, in a consistent and timely manner for both new construction and conversions projects.
You will examine various systems ranging from small control systems over advanced integrated automation systems to LV- and HV-switchboards and complex energy management systems for hybrid vessels, as well as cyber enabled systems and autonomous ships.
The work is office based from our office in Hellerup, Copenhagen, but you will occasionally be required local traveling to clients and shipyards and you might be requested to take part in negotiations or meetings with shipyards, flag administration and kick-off meetings with clients.
What do you need?
A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years programme) or Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship’s officer.
Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work.
Membership of an appropriate professional institution.
Knowledge and experience with marine electro technical systems.
Knowledge with cyber security as well as autonomous ship matters.
Preparation of the associated correspondence in accordance with the applicable procedures and liaison with clients.
To provide technical advice to internal and external clients.
