The Role, Objectives and Responsibilities
As a Software System Engineer at Ovzon, you will be involved in several different projects making use of engineering techniques to plan, design, develop and test diverse engineering systems. Systems involving things like Satellite communication, Networks, RF, DVB-Communication Standards, Modems and Terminals. You will work both with in-house developed products and with partners to develop products adapted to Ovzon’s requirements.
The person we are looking for has experience from System Engineering to Embedded Software Development and can examine problematic areas in systems and following the software development lifecycle to achieve the organizational and engineering objectives by completing associated results also from field tests as required.
You will work in a dedicated, cross-functional team at Ovzon’s office in Solna, Sweden and report to software team leader.
The role involves
System/Requirements engineering, SW Design, Development, and Test
Implementing new features as well as re-factoring existing ones
Review partners result and progress
Continuous integration and test automation (DevOps)
System/Product/Service Validation and Verification
Software Maintenance
Continuously improve software processes, methodologies, and routines
Skills and Qualifications
Hands on experience from working with software development (5+ years’) with a University degree (MSc or equivalent) in computer engineering, computer science, electronics, physics or similar. Experience with Embedded Software Development (C, C++, CMake, cross-compilers), as well as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools like Jenkins, Dockers and GIT. Must be familiar with IP communication and associated protocols. Experience from Linux and FreeBSD. Experience with FreeRTOS, ASIC/FPGA development (VHDL) and DVB-standards for satellite communication is an advantage.
