An exciting opportunity as Lead Engineer with us at Kongsberg Maritime has come up. To further strengthen our world-leading professional community within applied maritime cybernetics we are currently looking for ambitious and talented cybernetics professionals to join our team.
You will be contributing at the cutting edge of research-based and market-oriented innovation, working with exciting and challenging R&D problems in applied maritime cybernetics, following the solutions all the way from newly hatched ideas into finished market products
KONGSBERG is developing ship control systems for autonomous and unmanned ships, with the delivery projects to Yara Birkeland and Asko sea drones as the most visible examples.
KONGSBERG also has a long-term commitment to the reduction of greenhouse gases and other negative environmental effects. Our aim is to use our technology and expertise to develop even more climate-friendly solutions.

Key accountabilities
Contribute towards development activities and delivery projects with a focus on automated transit, automated docking, collision avoidance and fuel-efficient track control
Keep updated on new developments within the field of cybernetics and control theory
Central role in our contact with universities (NTNU and others) and in the shaping of our research activities
Actively contribute in development activities towards autonomous vessels
Qualifications and experience
PhD in marine cybernetics or engineering cybernetics with relevant specialization
or
Master’s degree in cybernetics or similar. Preferably with work experience as a developer within the field of marine control system, cybernetics, machine learning or Artificial Intelligence
Experience with Matlab/Simulink and C++ programming
Good oral and written communication skills in English and preferably in Norwegian
