Description

Furuno is searching for a Software Developer (C++) to join the R&D unit of 10 developers in Espoo.
The team is responsible for the development of PC-based marine software such as navigation and surveillance systems used in smaller boats as well as in the largest vessels. In the position you will work with versatile full-stack tasks utilizing geodata, sensor fusion, graphics and communications. Depending on your skills and areas of interest you will get to participate in all stages of the software development from defining the requirements and planning the architecture to UI development, data processing, building API’s and test automation. Our main technology stack includes C++, Qt, Linux and Python.
You may be an experienced developer or still in the beginning of your career, as long as you have gathered experience in backend development using C++ and Linux. Most importantly you are excited about building nautical software in addition to having the high motivation to constantly learn more amongst Furuno’s group of experts. We are preferably looking for a full-time developer, but a part-time role can be negotiated if that suits your situation better.

We require from you:
Work or internship experience in backend development with C++
Familiarity with Linux
Analytical mindset and motivation for product development
Fluent skills in English
We consider as an asset:
Relevant studies in software development/engineering
Programming skills in Python
Fluent skills in Finnish
In this position, you will be employed directly by Furuno. Security clearance will be conducted with the chosen candidate. Furuno’s office is located in Espoo and there are remote working possibilities but the work requires readiness to visit the office occasionally. The candidate should be based in Finland, as we do not offer relocation.
