What you will do

At Johnson Controls, we are looking for Service Engineers to join our Global Marine Service team in Denmark based in Norway. The Service Engineers are advanced field service technicians, who will join a global team of traveling technicians, who service large refrigeration installations (HVAC/R) onboard large fishing vessels, passenger ships, refrigerated cargo vessels, advanced offshore installations, etc. Our Service Engineers possess and provide high-level expertise and are a vital link between our customers and the office. You will help our customers succeed in retrofitting, maintaining, operating and optimizing their HVAC and Refrigeration equipment.

The length of the assignments range from a couple of days and up to 2-3 months - either on the same site or on a combination of several sites. Depending on the extent of the assignment, you will travel both alone and in teams, supported by a strong team of back office engineers.

You should expect a total of 180-200 traveling days per year globally and within Norway. When home, you can live anywhere in Norway.
How you will do it

As a Service Engineer in our Global Marine Service Team your primary tasks will be:

Supervision and repair of HVAC and Refrigeration equipment and their control systems on sailing ships.
Commissioning and start-up of installations at new builds at shipyards.
Leading the execution of plant upgrades and retrofits in operations and in dry docks.
Troubleshooting of HVAC and Refrigeration units and plants, and their controls.
Advice to customers for optimal operation of their installations.
Writing high quality service reports – documentation is a vital part of the role.
What we look for

Required

You are a practical and skillful technician who can work independently and enjoy troubleshooting.
You are customer oriented and structured.
You are comfortable with travelling 180-200 days a year.
You are experienced in automation and PLC control system.
You understand English in spoken and written terms, for documentation and report writing.
You have a driver’s license.
You are collaborative and you communicate effectively across multiple cultures.

Preferred

You have a college degree with a specialization in cooling technology, energy engineering or marine engineering.
You are widely experienced in working with larger refrigerators (screw / reciprocating compressors) and control systems.
Knowledge and/or experience within offshore segment, fire suppression/detection.
