We are shaping the industry’s future through the development of novel & innovative technology for the next generation of assets, while continuing to deliver solutions for our customers every day.The RoleWe are now looking for a Surveyor/Senior Surveyor to join our team in Sweden to be based in the Stockholm area and to cover surveys and inspections on the east coast of Sweden. There is an LR office in Sundbyberg but the Senior Surveyor we are recruiting will be the only marine surveyor in the area and in the office. The position can be homebased after agreement.You will:As a Surveyor you will carry out surveys and certifications of materials, equipment and components for the marine industry. In addition surveys on existing ships will be part of your role.This challenging role comes with a high level of responsibility. You will need the ability to think on your feet and make decisions when dealing with client queries and issues. You are expected to identify opportunities to improve our service delivery and assist in developing and maintaining relationships internally and externally to grow our business.You will carry out your work in a safe and responsible manner and assist our clients to improve their safety performance.As part of a dynamic team, you will be able to develop your experience and knowledge as well as contribute to the development of the team.Key Health & Safety ResponsibilitiesEliminate or minimise employee's exposure to risks by reviewing, regularly, the health and safety risk register, applying appropriate controls, communicating results of risk assessment and ensuring health and safety is considered in the planning and execution of all LR activities.Assess the risks and work in a safe manner at all times, robustly implementing health and safety rules, instructions and systems and refuse to undertake work that compromises your safety or health.Report in a timely manner all incidents including near miss and safety observations (NMSO), accidents and injuries and raise any health and safety concerns with your line manager.You will need:To be considered for an interview you will need:A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years programme) or qualifications from a marine institution.Relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship’s engineering officer is an advantage.Minimum five years’ experience in the Marine Industry. Previous experience as a surveyor of classification societies or a maritime administration is an advantage.Knowledge and experience of classification rules and regulations, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC regulations and other essential statutory requirements.We are looking for a self-starter who has the ability to effectively plan and organize workload. You have good interpersonal and communication skills and commercial awareness. Proficiency in English and PC literacy are also important to be successful in this role.Extensive travel within the area will be required therefore a driving license valid in Sweden is essential.
