About the position
Are you building a drone in your garage in your spare time? Or monitoring the water level of your plants in your aquaponic installation? Do you want to be a part of a skunkworks team of designers and engineers turning the latest technologies into the products of tomorrow?
We’re looking for a talented electronics engineer to join our team in Stockholm. As part of Above, you will be responsible for developing hardware solutions from early prototypes to mass production. You will be part of everything hardware related, ranging from early exploration of potential solutions to mass production. You can expect to spend as much time in our well-equipped model workshop and electronics lab as in front of the computer. Hands om prototyping is a significant part of what we do.
Projects are carried out in cross-functional teams spanning from service and interaction design, hardware and software development, sourcing, and supply chain management.

What you will do:
Participate in the early foundation and exploration phases and work together with UX and industrial designers to define new product concepts and experience
Help develop concepts from ideas to proof-of-concept prototypes including platform selection, system architecture design, schematics design, and PCB layout
Refine proof-of-concept prototypes into mature designs for mass production
Type of employment
Project-based, 6 months minimum, with a possible transition into a permanent position
Minimum a B.Sc. in electronics engineering or similar with 5+ years of relevant experience
Development of consumer electronics all the way to market, preferably at a small- or midsize enterprise with offshore manufacturing
A hybrid HW/FW profile with the ability to write firmware for your favorite MCU
Connectivity such as BLE, Wifi, Thread, Lora, Zigbee, GSM/LTE or GPS
Architecting and designing electronics; Schematics and PCB design
PCB wakeup, test, and soldering; PCB production including DFM and manufacturing principles
