Senior Consultant, Renewables Advisory, Floating Offshore Wind

Then you should apply for a job with us!We are looking for two Senior Consultants to join our Floating offshore wind team in delivering services to the offshore wind industry. You will primarily focus on our key customers within the floating offshore wind market, being a part of DNV’s global center of excellence for floating wind. Typical services will be linked to the planning, development, construction, and operation phases of wind farm projects, including design verification, technology qualification, due diligence, and general technical advisory.The overall purpose of the job is to support the Floating offshore wind team in its role to help DNV safeguard life, property and the environment and achieve our company vision: *To be a trusted voice to tackle global transformations.*Key tasks and deliveries include, but are not limited to: Provide our customers with technical support related to planning and development of wind farm concepts and projects,Discuss and resolve technical issues with project developers and lenders/investors and support customers though the financial closings of projects and through the construction phase (technical due diligence services)Perform market studies, cost studies and technical assessmentsCustomer contact and project management, including managing complex, technical projects from inception through to completionParticipate in business development activities. Build relationships and manage interfaces with external clients, initiate JIPs (Joint Industry Projects) contributing to drive the floating wind industry forwardSenior Consultant #1 will have a special focus on technical advisory related to the fabrication, transportation, and installation phases of floating wind farm projects based on his/her previous experience and competence relevant for these phasesSenior Consultant #2 will further, based on his/her competence within hydrodynamics, statistics and global response of floating structures, lead verification of floating wind structural and mooring design and lead studies involving coupled load and response analysisYou will collaborate and have extensive contact with other departments, as various projects are staffed with multi-disciplinary experts in the company. Your tasks will not only be limited to floating wind but could involve other renewables such as bottom-fixed offshore wind, floating solar, wave power and integrated energy systems.Position Qualifications: To qualify you must have: MSc degree in a relevant engineering field is required. Subjects related to floating wind, offshore renewable energy, offshore and/or maritime industry is an advantageSeveral years of relevant experienceSenior Consultant #1:Proven track record with the offshore industry with experience related to the fabrication, transportation, installation and operation phases of a projectExperience within assessment and analysis of marine operations is an advantageKnowledge of international rules and standards for floating offshore wind support structures is an advantageSenior Consultant #2:Strong theoretical background from hydrodynamic analysis, coupled global load and response analysis and structural reliability analysisCompetence within structural and/or mooring designPreferably experience with (but not a prerequisite):Global load and response analysis software e.g. SIMA (SIMO, Riflex), OrcaflexAerodynamics for wind turbinesOffshore standards and requirements for floating offshore wind support structuresKey competencies and personal attributesStrong presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written), able to work effectively within a consultancy environment.Strong analytical skillsExcellent ability to produce clear written reports and communicate verbally in EnglishAble to co-operate well with others; shares knowledge, experience, and information; and supports others in pursuit of team goals.We are looking for experienced professionals with deep technical understanding and knowledge who is ready to apply that knowledge in solving complex technical and commercial issues for our customers together with DNV’s world leading technical experts in multidisciplinary projects.
