Senior Claims Executive, Offshore Wind
Offshore Energy Claims is seeking a Senior Claims Executive - Offshore Wind to work in our Oslo office.
Key responsibilities The Senior Claims Executive, Offshore Wind, will be responsible for handling claims under Gard’s Offshore Wind Energy Insurance portfolio. The successful applicant will be part of the Oslo P&I & Offshore Energy Claims team.
You will also be a knowledge resource for colleagues handling other claims associated with Offshore Wind activities, as well as Underwriters and Loss Prevention colleagues in connection with risk assessments, technical and operational issues.
Other responsibilities include contributing to knowledge sharing with colleagues, and representing Gard in customer and broker meetings and various industry fora. The role will also involve some travel at short notice when required and again permitted.
Competence/experience requirements A strong engineering and technical background related to offshore wind or other relevant renewable energy sector will be preferred. Work experience from Offshore Wind Construction, Operations or other relevant renewable energy sector as well as experience with regulatory or contractual matters will be beneficial.
The offshore wind claims portfolio includes physical loss or damage to insured assets under construction and in operation, business interruption and third-party liabilities for Offshore Windfarm owners and operators. Such claims are often complex with technical, regulatory, and contractual challenges, and involve numerous professional parties and stakeholders. A successful applicant will therefore have a deep understanding of offshore wind assets and operations or contractual and regulatory regimes within the offshore wind sector.
The role requires strong written and oral communication, presentation and negotiation skills, and the ability to work successfully as part of a lean and highly specialized team. The work language is English.
