For our Offshore Project Transport department , we are looking for a dedicated Sea Transport Specialist, who wants to play a vital role in the execution of offshore wind turbine projects .
The Project Transport team belongs to the Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) Sales & Projects organization and works as an internal supplier of end-to-end logistics solutions for our large- scale wind turbine projects world-wide . The Project Transport team executes on SGRE contracts within heavy haulage, port services, heavy-lift shipping as well as containers, groupage , courier etc. within Business Unit Offshore.
How to contribute to our vision
The Sea Transport Specialist is responsible for the planning and execution according to demands set by the wind turbine projects in execution . You are the anchor point in taking a holistic view across each of the active projects , therein ensuring that the overall shipping capacity is utilized in the most cost-effective way on a portfolio level .In the day -to- day operations, you create and maintain the shipping schedules for contracted vessels carrying main wind turbine components. You are responsible for the full cost settlements from the logistics supply chain , and you identify and balance the risks and opportunities within the executional plans, both on short and medium term.
The role requires regular participation in on-site meetings, supervision , and surveys and other customer / project related activities, and you should expect approximately 20 days of travelling per year, depending on specific assignments. The role also requires occasional “phone reach” outside normal working hours.
Aside from the operational aspects, you play a key role in pushing for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing related to operational excellence, budgets, quality etc. You act as technical counterpart to procurement organization during tenders and contract negotiations, herein contributing to overall shipping strategy for future turbines and markets.
What you need to make a difference
You have a p assion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. As a person, you are self-driven with a responsible and analytical, result-oriented approach to your work.
Keeping an eye on the details, you are able to carry out your tasks in a dynamic and hectic environment where no day is the same - and where priorities have to be adjusted in the daily shift between mid-term planning and short-term tasks.
You are a strong communicator, both orally and in writing (English) – and you hold a proactive, outgoing , and structured mindset. The ideal candidate has experience from project logistics business, heavy-lift shipping or similar.In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
