Job Area: Strategy & Business Development
Business Unit: Business Platform Renewable Hydrogen
Did you know that globally more than 800 million tons of CO2eq emissions per year are due to hydrogen production? That’s roughly equivalent to e.g. the emissions from aviation or maritime transport. Those emissions can and need to be avoided by shifting towards sustainable production of renewable hydrogen. Do you want to help us get there?
We are looking for a

We have a team of highly driven professionals in technology, business development and investments working at Neste to create new business based on the utilization of renewable and low-emission hydrogen. Currently our work includes, for example, developing electrolysis solutions that allow decarbonisation of production at the Porvoo refinery, implementing the world’s biggest high-temperature electrolyzer at our refinery in Rotterdam and developing hydrogen solutions at all Neste production sites. All of our work takes place in networks with several co-workers both within and outside Neste Corporation. You would join our team as a technology expert on hydrogen systems, such as electrolyzers or hydrogen mobility systems.
Your main responsibilities in creating a sustainable future with renewable hydrogen will be to
Strengthen the Renewable hydrogen platform capacity in technical analysis, technology evaluation and technical calculus related to hydrogen systems, including hydrogen production and use as well as compatibility with and optimization towards the electric grid and power markets
Take responsibility of particular platform project tasks related to hydrogen technology
Contribute to the Renewable hydrogen platform strategy development with technical expertise
Contribute to external R&D collaboration as steering group member or Neste contact person in public research projects and funding collaborations with technical scope
Your closest colleagues will be in the Renewable hydrogen innovation business platform, part of Neste’s highly competent Innovation organization. In addition, you will work closely with Neste’s engineering teams from Neste Engineering Solutions. Finally, in collaborative research projects, you will work together with external stakeholders, such as research institutes and universities. Your work location can be in, for example, Finland (Espoo, Porvoo), Germany (Düsseldorf) or The Netherlands (Amsterdam).

Minimum 5 years of professional experience from working with relevant technologies (e.g. electrolysis, fuel cells, hydrogen storage, hydrogen logistics or their modelling) in research, technology development or consulting
Fluency in oral presentation and in written communication in English
Success in this role will require analytical thinking, persistence to carry on enduring tasks, the capacity to deeply focus and work independently on topical subject matters as well as the ability to work together with colleagues and in teams
Working both remote as well as at the office and the use of remote working software are required
Willingness for occasional travelling is expected
