We are looking for a Research specialist (Grant writer) Our Research, Development and Innovation (RDI)-activity is a dynamic actor in the regional, national, and international innovation ecosystems. Our areas of expertise are Automation and maritime simulation, Arts, culture and entrepreneurship, Bioeconomy and sustainable use of natural resources, Business development, Interprofessional health and welfare, and Sustainable energy technology. During the coming years we expect a robust growth especially within intelligent systems, while at the same time our international collaborations and partnerships are growing. As research specialist with responsibility for grant writing your central task is to offer grant writing services to our research groups primarily in: Automation and maritime simulation Bioeconomy and sustainable use of natural resources Sustainable energy technology The aim is to promote and strengthen our international RDI-activities and to enhance possibilities for competitive funding, primarily European research funding instruments.
Responsibilities include to: actively participate in the writing and forming of grant applications support and coordinate grant applications in dialogue with research leaders and research groups administrate grant applications in dialogue with project partners contact funders and provide professional development and grant training to staff explore grant opportunities and inform about them internally develop and maintain the internal grant application process The ideal candidate should possess the following qualities: PhD degree or Master’s degree minimum of three years of experience in working with research and grant writing, foundations, or related activities experience in writing successful grant applications, European research funding instruments are considered excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, skills in Swedish and/or Finnish is considered a merit excellent organizational skills including ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects in parallel, information retrieval, meeting deadlines and to achieve ambitious goals good communication skills and ability to support and guide Salary in accordance with collective agreement for the private teaching sector and internal guidelines. The position includes a probationary period of six months. Employment to start on 17th of January 2022 or by agreement. Location: Vaasa or Turku, Novia UAS can offer flexible work arrangements.
