An exciting opportunity is open as R&D Manager in the Underwater Acoustics (UA) Department for complete products within mapping of the seafloor, biomass estimation, positioning and communication and naval sonars.
The R&D UA department has highly skilled employees in Norway and abroad, in dedicated teams for software, electronics, documentation and mechanical engineering. The department covers a broad skillset from mechanical engineering, QA, signal processing, embedded software, cloud-solutions, GUI, technical documentation, real-time software and electronics. The departments main mission is to execute development projects and product maintenance.
Key accountabilities
Development and maintenance of our world-class products including hardware, software and documentation
Plan and execute development projects for new and updated product versions
Manage our strategic roadmap for hardware and software platforms
Resource budgeting, planning and allocation according to decided roadmaps and strategies - track and review progress – report to Management team
Implement common tools, methods and procedures – ensure use of best practice and continuous improvement
Strengthen R&D organization within all aspects of test, test automation and documentation
Manage partnerships with external partners for scaling of relevant competence
Keep up to date with the latest relevant technologies within our domain
Qualifications and experience
Several years of experience in managing distributed software teams - familiar with a variety of technologies, programming languages, codes and processes
Experience from managing development projects
Analytic and strategic thinking to bring KM in a position to utilize appropriate technology to develop world class systems
A pragmatic approach to delivering results and create value for our customers
Ability to establish good relationships with a broad group of internal and external stakeholders
Co-operate well with management team, share knowledge, experience, information and support others in the pursuit of team goals
Master of Science in computer science, electronics or signal processing
