Description

In the position as an R&D Engineer – Computer Vision you will apply your knowledge about computer vision and machine learning on images originating from underwater acoustic sensor data. You will also have the opportunity to make a difference in the rather new research field of combining machine vision and hydroacoustics. You will contribute to developing technology that enable sonars and echo sounders to ensure safe navigation of vessels and robots reducing environmental footprint, and contribute to critical knowledge about the sustainability of ocean resources for future generations.

The position is in our central technology department designing underwater acoustic systems. Your coworkers are leading experts in acoustics, electronics, embedded design and signal processing, passionate about their work and ready to share their knowledge. In the beginning you will develop computer vision methods for situational awareness on a robotic product in development. You will have the opportunity to participate in developing own role based on competence and interest. We also encourage newly graduates to apply.

Key accountabilities

Computer vision methods utilizing underwater acoustic sensors for robotic guidance Apply computer vision and machine learning techniques on underwater acoustic data, e.g. calibration, feature engineering, pattern recognition, tracking, measurement and classification Contribute to the complete development cycle, from design to implementation and ocean testing

Relevant qualifications and experience

Strong theoretical background (MSc/PhD) in Robotics, Signal Processing, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or similar Computer vision and machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, MATLAB) Programming skills (e.g. Python, R, MATLAB, C/C++) Knowledge about real time systems
