Our client is involved in projects delivering electrical equipment and advanced control systems covering a broad field of applications, such as subsea electrical systems, power from shore to oil installations, onshore and offshore fish farms, renewable energies, and more.
We are looking to strengthen their engineering team with a project lead engineer with an education in electrical engineering, project experience and knowledge to e-house / container solutions for electrical and control systems.
The position implies responsibilities in large projects, together with a professional project team and a large organization. You will have a key role in delivery project, deciding and prioritizing activities.
Description
Technical manager for all engineering activities, including test and completion activities for the agreed scope within a project including electrical, automation, with interface to mechanical, civil, instrument. The clients multi discipline projects are classified as projects with Medium/High engineering complexity. The engineering manager shall ensure that activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are timely, efficiently and cost-effectively executed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
The Engineering Manager shall seek for project opportunities for new and repeat business.
Ensure that project shares the best practice with the responsible line organization to increase efficiency and quality in both project execution and products.
Tasks:
drive completion of all engineering activities in projects
act as design authority and accountable for system engineering deliveries
collaborate on project installation, commissioning and site activities
create engineering proposals for new projects
support contract manager in issuing claims
define project tasks, define schedule, cost and quality metrics
create and implement strategies for risk assessment and mitigation
work with customers at strategic level and deliver solutions meeting customer needs
oversee creation of subcontracts and manage these with other involved functions such as SCM
Requirements
Requirements
Technical education (MSC) in “Electrical Engineering”.
Minimum 5-10 years’ experience from engineering in projects and working in a multi discipline engineering environment.
Minimum 1 large project with value higher than 100 MNOK. Experience with multi discipline projects is an advantage.
Collaboration skills and ability to develop functional teams.
Experience as Senior Engineer/Lead Engineer. Lead an engineering team of 4-8 persons
Experience as package engineer
Experience with oil and gas projects offshore and/or onshore is a major advantage
Characteristics
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience in review specifications, procedures and fabrication documentation.
Knowledge of applicable national and international standards for electrical and mechanical equipment
Experience with oil company’s requirements specifications relevant for topside delivery. - Subsea experience is an advantage.
