Local Unit & Position Description:

DNV – Digital Solutions (DS) is seeking a Product Delivery Manager to join our Software Engineering operation that is responsible for driving the technology strategy for the software business and for developing world class domain rich software which is offered in multiple channels and through multiple platforms (desktop, hosted, Software as a Service). Software Engineering consists of 430 people in six Product Centres worldwide and two common Centres of Excellence.
The position of Product Delivery Manager for the CFD software portfolio, currently comprising the KFX and Exsim Products, will report to the Head of Plant Product Centre and work closely with the CFD Team in Trondheim and the Plant Product Management Team.
Much of the CFD software development is influenced and funded by large Joint Industry Projects (JIP) with major energy companies, in combination with feedback from the market and customers. You will be responsible for ensuring delivery on both sets of needs which inform and drive the Product Roadmap. You will also contribute to advanced advisory services.
Two of DNV’s key strategic growth objectives are focussed on digital transformation and energy transition, and these strategic objectives are reflected in the CFD development priorities. In addition, we have ongoing activities to Cloud enable our CFD software. You will be involved in planning and scheduling this work and ensuring relevant new features are included in commercial releases of the software.
Tasks may include
Work closely with the modelling and development teams in CFD Solutions and across the Plant Product Centre with responsibility for delivering new releases of the CFD software products
Work closely with industry partners through JIPs for future development of KFX-Exsim
Collaborate with Product Managers to agree on Roadmap priorities and ensure that these are delivered effectively on time and within budget
Elaborate roadmaps into features, stories, and tasks to define detailed requirements as well as understanding what needs to be built and delivered to customers and how to build it from a technical perspective
Manage the detailed Product backlog in Azure DevOps (ADO) and plan release scheduling, scope, and timeline in close collaboration with Product Managers
Coordinate development sprints with Scrum-Masters across Scrum Teams according to agreed release schedule
Close collaboration with other Product Delivery Managers to contribute to integration across the risk product portfolio
Support in customer facing activities, such as business development and sales
Support to the marketing team in delivering user conferences, webinars, marketing material, articles, press releases, release notes, white papers etc
Lead the development and delivery of CFD training materials and courses
Position Qualifications:
MSc or PhD degree in a scientific or engineering discipline
3+ years of experience in relevant areas, such as fluid dynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, fire dynamics, chemistry and/or advanced mathematics
Good knowledge and experience in CFD modelling
Experience with the industrial use of KFX-Exsim as well as other CFD software used for safety analysis is an advantage
Knowledge of activities such as chemical process risk analysis, safety engineering, integrity management and environmental impact analysis is preferrable
Experience with agile software development processes is an advantage
Experience with high-performance computer languages such as C, C++ and Fortran is an advantage
Good at developing and maintaining external and relationships and networks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Fluency in English
