Description

My name is Ekaterina Riegels Hjorth, Regional Procurement Manager for Svitzer Europe, and together with my colleague Philip O’Brien, I am looking for a new Procurement Project Manager to join our Svitzer Europe Procurement team. In this role, you get the unique opportunity to take on responsibility for and lead procurement projects within the region – leading procurement sourcing projects, conducting negotiations, and drive process improvements.
We offer
Svitzer is a towage company, which means we help our customers maneuver their larger ships safely and timely in and out of port. Most of our business in Europe is to support container vessels, cargo ships, cruise ships and navy vessels but we also attend to emergencies like vessels being adrift or offshore fires. I hope to get a chance to meet you and share more good stories about our role in making the global supply chain run smoothly.
In this role, you will get the opportunity to take charge of procurement projects to support our business operating smoothly and cost-effectively across Europe. You could for example be running a tender of legal services, identifying process improvements within our transaction flows or roll out a new business expense policy.
Procurement is a relatively small team consisting of buyers, category manager and project manager. Our roles are different, but we work as a team and are good at helping each other out. You will be joining a busy but engaged team where we try to strike the balance of being strategic while supporting the frontline with their daily needs.

Initially you will be working together with Philip, who is leading the team while I am on maternity leave. We are looking for a new colleague who is able to work independently and professionally with key procurement processes and drive projects forward in collaboration with colleagues and suppliers. We place emphasis on being able to maintain good and professional relationships, as we rely on our good relationships to solve problems and run an upright business.
You will be based together with the Svitzer Europe headquarter team at Esplanaden 50 in Copenhagen and you will gain a team of procurement colleagues who are based across the European region – in the UK, Denmark, Sweden and Netherlands.

You will work closely with our frontline teams who operate the towage business on a day-to-day basis, as well as the Svitzer Europe headquarters team whenever they need support or are involved in a procurement project. This also means that your working days vary between virtual meetings and in-person interactions, while also taking the time to travel from time to time to meet the organization in person.
