The role

The Operations Manager - Maritime is responsible for oversight and leadership of the operations of Saab Australia’s maritime division to support achievement of annual objectives, meeting customer expectations and aligning to long-term business strategy outcomes.

The role, reporting to and with delegation from the General Manager, has oversight of the management, planning and performance of all operational activities, particularly financial, resource management, facilities and ICT planning, reporting, and all aspects of compliance.
Further, the successful candidate will:

Coordinate divisional budgeting and reporting cycle, manage non-revenue budgets and provide oversight of divisional financial outcomes.

Support Maritime Program Managers to deliver program performance, including delivery of revenue, gross margin and cash flow targets

Prepare divisional reports for board and senior management for Australian and Sweden (business plan development and tracking, Company Info input, Monthly Business Review, weekly reports)

Review and maintain systems, process and practices to drive efficient and effective performance across the maritime division

Support the General Manager to develop and maintain positive working relationships with key customers, stakeholders, partners and suppliers

Support effective divisional people resource management through oversight of resource management process (estimating and allocating of staff to work scope) and contributing to agreement of operational priorities

About you
Your skills and experience will include:

Tertiary qualifications in management, business, science or engineering discipline

Extensive experience in management of large, complex business operations or systems oriented program/project management

Strong competency in financial management, stakeholder and customer management, business development and delivery, risk and compliance.

Broad competency in management of complex engineering, technical or scientific activities

Strong problem solving skills and a demonstrated ability to develop and execute quick, effective courses of action

Proven ability to work collaboratively, and influence positive outcomes through your leadership skills across all levels of an organisation, with partners and customers, and in multi-discipline/multi-party environments

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
