We are looking for someone who exhibits analytical thinking, curiosity, and a passion for sustainable business, with excellent oral and written presentation and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include research, analysis, communications, direct client work, and the ability to understand and contribute to MACN’s network. Internship candidates should be enrolled in a postgraduate program and must be eligible to receive credits/points from the internship. The internship is ideally full time for a period of 6 months, but this can be modified according to the student’s situation as well as the prospect of receiving credits from your university (4 months as a minimum).
Responsibilities
Research and analysis: Conduct primary and secondary research on a broad spectrum of market, stakeholder, and policy issues and perform rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis of data and information.
Working with data: Use of spreadsheets and databases like Excel, SQL or other cloud databases. A variety of data analysis tasks like data wrangling and data mining and creating dynamic visualisations. Working knowledge on a variety of data sources, data analysis tools and practical experience with data manipulation and applying analytical techniques.
Advisory services: Collaborate with MACN’s staff and work with a global membership and clients to assist on projects and collaborative initiatives.
Writing and communications: Prepare and/or edit written reports and briefs targeted at a business audience and develop and deliver written and oral presentations.
MACN Strategy: Help advance business and research opportunities through analysis of trends and market conditions. Liaise with colleagues on issues, trends, and market conditions.
MACN Tools development: Show a keen interest in developing and improving MACN current and upcoming tools. Some e.g. like Global HelpDesk platform, Third-Party Risk management tool, e-Learning platform.
What do we require?
Education: Bachelor’s degree, strong academic and professional record, and current enrolment in relevant postgraduate program.
Skills: Exceptional oral and written English, research, presentation, organization, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. The candidate also needs to show analytical skills, critical thinking and attention to detail.
Technical expertise: Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Advanced skills in Excel. Working knowledge of databases (for e.g. SQL) and data analytical tools is an advantage.
Interest or experience in: Maritime industry, anti-corruption or compliance work.
