Do you want to be responsible for the Marine Operations Project & Contracts Management under the Tunnel Dredging and Reclamation Contract as well as during the subsequent tunnel immersion operations?
Then join us and become a Marine Operations Senior Project Manager at the owner organisation Femern A/S. The Marine Operations Manager duties will include the management of the marine contracts and offshore construction activities according to relevant project management requirements.

The Job

Working alongside the Contract Director for the Tunnel Dredging and Reclamation Contract, you will fulfil a key role in the management of the Marine Operation Management Team, who primarily supports the construction of the work harbours and reclamation areas and the dredging of the tunnel trench, as well as works related to the immersion of the tunnel.

Your key tasks will include :

As the Marine Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the Marine Operations management of the full project implementation lifecycle. That involves managing and monitoring of the marine operations and as well as giving management support and guidance within a broad spectrum of maritime matters in general, including Marine Facilities, Marine Engineering, Marine Procurement, Marine Stakeholders & Interfaces.
You will be leading the stakeholder relations to Danish and German maritime authorities - specifically the maritime authorities including VTS Fehmarnbelt, Emergency Response Services, Border Crossing & the ferry service.
It is also your job to have the overall responsible for the on-going development of the various marine safety concepts in close coordination with authorities, stakeholders and consultants.
Other responsibilities
Overall responsible for the review of the contractors work methods, materials, equipment and work schedule for projects marine and land-based civil work, as well as relevant parts of the Femern Management System.
Overall responsible for the Guard- and Inspection Vessel and Vessel Authority Personal service contracts, as well of other relevant marine service contracts.
Overall responsible for the liaison to field engineers and stakeholders to ensure all parties are conducting safe marine activities in and around the Femern A/S marine job sites across the Fehmernbelt.
Overall responsible for the monitoring of work schedules as well as reporting on all Marine Operations Management matters, in cooperation with the Site & Construction Managers, Project Control Managers and Contract Directors when required.
Principle Accountabilities
Lead and be accountable for the Marine Operations & Work Vessel Management including Marine Facilities, Marine Engineering, Marine Procurement, Marine Stakeholders & Interfaces
Lead and be accountable for Work Vessel Coordination Service
Lead and be accountable for management of the various Marine Operations Consultancy Services
Your profile: A dynamic and proactive Marine Operations Senior Project Manager
You should ideally have an education as Civil Engineer in Marine structures with years of experience as a Senior Marine Project Manager. Extended experience with management of large-scale offshore construction works is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will have the following key competencies & qualifications:
Essential criteria
Advanced knowledge of marine construction Project Management, with proven ability to handle complex marine construction projects using strong organization and multi-tasking skills
Advanced knowledge of marine construction site safety protocols and proven ability to enforce project safety programs.
Advanced knowledge of marine authority & stakeholder management
Proven management of marine works and vessel contracts
Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate Marine requirements and issues clearly to both marine and non-marine audiences
Native, bilingual or full professional proficiency, in English
Enthusiastic, self-motivated and pro-active with good attention to detail
Desirable criteria
Advanced knowledge of construction site equipment operations for preferably both marine and land-based activities and especially Dredging and Reclamation works as well as immersion works.
Advanced knowledge of ISPS, Navigational Simulations and SafeSeaNet
Knowledge of Danish & German is an advantage

Your remuneration package will be according to your qualifications and you will be offered health insurance and other staff benefits.
You will be based in our Copenhagen Office, and working in Rødbyhavn & Germany frequently.
Please expect a period of transition with Crosstraining - approximately a 3-month overlap with current manager prior to his retirement.
