Description

We want an inclusive, diverse, and safe working environment for all of our seagoing colleagues in Maersk.

… and I need you to spearhead all our efforts to create and maintain that.
We offer
Hi there new colleague
This role, right here, that is a WAUW-role.

A safe working environment, diversity, equity and inclusion is something we consider close to our hearts here in Marine HR. Last year we added positions within the field, and now we need a manager for the team to support creating the best culture for our colleagues. It’s safe to say, that we want to change for the better – and we want you to help us.

As Marine Culture Lead, everything you do will impact ~12500 seafarers. Yes, that is quite an impact you’ll have – and yes, for this one, we really need to nail it.
It is not like we been laying low. We have a lot of good work on going, we just need to give it another push as we want to do more. We hope you will join us and together with the team, help scale the ongoing work even more.Key responsibilities
You will have quite a broad job-scope, as you will not only be responsible for leading this for our container fleet, but also make sure there is strong coordination with the other brands such as Maersk Line, Limited, Svitzer and Supply Service.
We need to train for new competencies, create campaigns to increase awareness, make sure our case handling is top notch, ensure proper reporting, involve seafarers and pilot initiatives etc.
We look forward to your help scoping these ideas, for you to add your own ideas and for you to help structure and lead the work.
You are not alone in this. You’ll have two wonderful colleagues supporting you; Trine, who is an expert(!) within the DEI field and who are already full steam ahead with new initiatives and Camilla, who just joined us from the fleet. She is a seafarer and will make sure that we validate our ideas with our most important stakeholders: our seagoing colleagues.
I consider you quite lucky to work with these two!
How you will be doing it is up to you, as long as it is impactful (making this sound easy right? ). You will collaborate with a lot of internal stakeholders and this is a journey for us all, so you need to keep your cool every now and then. Everyone sees the value in this, but we may take a little time to get fully onboard all the new initiatives.

For your external stakeholders, I have no doubt you will do just fine. They will just as passionate as you on this topic.

Oh and me? I’ll remove the roadblocks for you. This is so important for us to succeed on, so I’ll do my best every day, to make you succeed here.

Being upright, I do need to say, that I really really really love this agenda and I could probably take hours of your time to discuss these topics. If I ever become a bottleneck, just tell me and I’ll get out of your way. But now your warned – I’ll take every opportunity to talk with you about this.

We are looking for
To succeed in this role, you need to:Drive, scope and lead projects. You own this agenda, you run it. I’ll be doing my best to remove the roadblocks and you have the team to support – but you are the lead.
Have stellar communication and presentation skills. We are presenting and reporting to Senior Management of Maersk on an ongoing basis, and you need to be able to create that material. Storylining a presentation should not be new to you.Be passionate about DEI. We consider this core for our future, if you do not love this area, then we will not be the best match for you.
Maybe you have worked as a consultant for a couple of years, maybe you are a strong project manager and have led global programs – whatever it is, I can’t wait to learn more about it.

If you have knowledge about the maritime world it would be great (!), but it is not a requirement. We value your strong project management skills and your leadership abilities way more.

This is the most amazing opportunity you are currently thinking to yourself.

How do I apply for this? Great question!
You do two things:You share your CV with us
You share a 1-pager presenting who you are and your ideas for the role. Yes, getting those great presentations skills to work already now. So, no cover letter, only a 1-pager/slide on you and your ideas.
Kind regards
Julie

Please note that we will be reviewing applications on an ongoing basis and the role may be closed before last application date.
