Join our Hull Performance Solutions teamOne of our important strategic initiatives in Hempel is to develop and roll-out in-house underwater vessel inspections and build a network of global suppliers of underwater services. This is a key supporting initiative in Hempel’s overall journey to improve vessel performance and help our customers achieve significant fuel and carbon emission savings.As the Hull Management Service Manager you will own this strategic initiative and be responsible for turning the concept from pilot stages into a real business proposition, we can market and anchor with relevant stakeholders. You will be responsible for building a global footprint of in-house ROV inspections and 3rd party supplier services. Moreover, you will be developing the commercial model, set up underwater service delivery and be responsible for data collection and structure.Strengthen our TeamAs part of the Hull Performance Solutions team you will have the opportunity to work with our commercial model, operational set-up, business development and data and software management.The main responsibilities for this role are:Further developing and rolling out the operation of in-house ROV inspections across selected geographies that fit with Hempel’s global footprintIdentifying 3rd party suppliers for underwater inspections, cleaning or related services and negotiating partner agreementsEvaluate the business case and strategic relevance of in-house solutions vs. 3rd party inspection service footprint in the futureManage a small team of two employees, currently responsible for developing and rolling out the ROV solution and for fouling analysisIdentify, onboard and co-create solution improvements with pilot customersStandardize and automate fouling analysis, using digital tools such as machine learningTrain and market the solution through Hempel’s sales force and externallyConnect the visual inspection stream with other data streams including performance monitoring and AIS to get a full view of the vessel performanceYou will be joining a dedicated team of 7 in the Hull Performance Solutions team, working across our Global Services and Marine Business Units. The team is based in Hempel’s headquarters in Kgs. Lyngby.We are looking for an experienced Service ManagerAs our ideal candidate you have a strong drive to succeed and have a great cross cultural understanding. Preferably you have a good understanding and experience from the maritime industry with knowledge of vessel performance drivers and the ability to communicate effectively. You are thorough, disciplined and reliable with strong planning and follow up skills and possess great interpersonal skills.Furthermore we expect the following from our candidates:Minimum 5 years market or project development experience from business development, maritime performance or similar relevant backgroundsA commercial mindset and can elevate and think strategically, incl. making deep dives into commercial, technical, and engineering matter and processesThriving with rapid change and having to pivot solutions, and get excited when the business engages new leads and value streams that require your commercial focus.Fluent in EnglishA world leading supplier of trusted coating solutionsAt Hempel we’re guardians of our customers’ most valuable assets.
