Description

Odense Maritime Technology A/S is looking for a young consultant who, through interest, commitment, ambition, and high professional level, can develop to cover the necessary competencies within consulting in maritime projects - broadly in the interaction between shipowner, ship designer, and shipyard.

As OMT is experiencing a steady increase in the number of consultancy assignments in maritime projects, we need new talent - and that could be you!

You will be part of and work closely with our consultancy organisation, consisting of project managers, engineers, and consultants with many years of experience in maritime projects and you will also be in close contact with our other technical disciplines within the design and construction of ships.

Tasks
Your tasks will be ranging widely in terms of e.g., drafting of ship contracts, preparation and commenting of project-cost calculations and budgets, project design and production plans, production strategies, production optimisation, evaluation of ship projects in general, as well as advising on and monitoring of ongoing shipbuilding projects.

Your professional and personal qualifications
You have a degree in Engineering or a relevant education with an interest in the way that maritime projects are linked contractually, commercially, production and implementation-wise, and thus how the commercial and production sides of a project are linked.

You have the desire and ability to understand complex processes in both project and contract management, the structure and language of complex specifications, production plans and “Statements of Work/Scope” for advanced industrial products and plants.

You are prepared to act in a variety of roles, such as a business consultant and technical advisor, depending on the tasks - both in-house and on-site - and you will work closely with experienced consultants.

The majority of our clients are foreign, and you can expect some travel activity, with periods of 4-6 weeks abroad.

You should have a good command of written and spoken English.

Personally, it is important that you thrive in a dynamic environment where you are constantly faced with new challenges and daily decisions which often involve compromises. However, these can never compromise integrity, quality and safety.

Who is OMT and what can we offer?
OMT is one of Denmarks leading maritime design and consultancy companies. OMT was established in 2010 as a spin-off of Odense Steel Shipyard, then owned by A. P. Møller-Mærsk. Since then, OMTs services have been in high demand globally. Today we employ more than 70 specialists and consultants in our offices in Odense and Copenhagen. OMT offers services in ship planning, ship design, license sales, production technology, and shipyard layouts. We place great emphasis on designing products that utilise new and environmentally-friendly technologies, are energy-optimised, have low running costs and are cost-effective, both during production and in operations. OMTs team consists mainly of highly qualified consultants, as well as marine, mechanical, electrical, and production engineers.

OMT is an ISO 9001 certified, globally operating company in development, and we offer a challenging and exciting career in a technically very interesting industry. The business environment is international, but we have an attentive and team-oriented working environment in which everyone knows that complex tasks are best solved in teams with high competence and performance as well as great integrity and joy across national borders.

Place of work: OMT, Sverigesgade 4, 5000 Odense C or Meldahlsgade 5, 1613 Copenhagen V
