European Energy is a Danish privately owned company in rapid growth. We cover all phases of wind and photovoltaic (PV) solar projects, from greenfield development to construction, operation, and divestment of assets. Our company of 200 employees has since 2004 installed more than 2 GW of renewable energy and have a pipeline of 17 GW. We operate globally and employ 23 different nationalities at our HQ in Copenhagen and our offices in Sweden, the UK, Germany, Italy, Poland, Lithuania, and Spain. Our mission is to be a significant force in the global transition to a society free of fossil energy.
You will be part of our Project Department, which handles the development of our projects globally. You will be the commercial and technical lead of our offshore wind activities. We are currently working on projects totaling 600 MW in advanced development stage in Denmark. We have further pre-qualified for the 1 GW Thor tender. Your focus will be to further develop these projects as well as developing an international future project portfolio.
One of your main responsibilities will be to further build up and lead our offshore team with a focus on a few select markets. You will be based at our headquarter with direct reference to our Project Director. As Head of Offshore Wind, you will coordinate and contribute to assessing feasibility and commercial potential of projects, develop projects, bring them to financial close and secure progress through the construction phase.
Finally, you will identify and evaluate potential partners, advisors and subcontractors in local markets. Based on our matrix organization, all projects involve close cooperation with financial, legal and EPC colleagues.
Areas of Responsibility:
Further develop and lead our offshore wind team, including goalsetting, performance management, coaching and training
Lead the further commercial and technical development of our existing project portfolio
Coordinate and assess feasibility of new offshore wind projects
Drive commercial processes in offshore projects, including developing a business case and setting up a team around new projectsProfessional skills we expect from you
You have completed a bachelor or master at university level or an equivalent institution within engineering or similar
At least 5 years of experience, preferably from a similar role with people management
Experience with the offshore wind energy industry
You have developed and constructed large infrastructure projects.
Full professional proficiency in English and Danish.
Strong leadership skills
It is essential that you possess strong problem solving skills, critical thinking and that you are motivated by completing projects successfully and going the extra mile. It is very important that you have the leadership skills to motivate and develop your team.
